Vince and Casey :: Married!!

Friday morning, Jenny and I headed down to Indy to join Vince and Casey on their wedding day. Casey had emailed me on facebook before she was even engaged to tell me that she absolutely had to have me for her wedding, and then emailed me again not too much later excited to tell me she was engaged!! We spent the next several months emailing and facebooking back and forth, all building up to Friday morning when I finally got to meet her face to face and hug her fabulous self!

We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day for these two! The weather was perfect fall, and Indy has started to change colors so it was gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous. The girls all gathered together and got ready, and went to meet the men for photos. When we met up with Vince, I asked Casey (never having met him) which one was Vince, and she said, "look for the most handsome of them all" :) That was just a small glimpse for me into how much these two adore each other....and it only got sweeter as the day went on.

Vince and Casey opted for a first look, and I have never seen anything so tender as this moment between them. I took Vince away from the crowd and made small talk with him as Casey started over. Vince stood there, and kept rubbing his face in anxious anticipation, and asked me if it was okay for him to walk around because he couldn't hold still!! Casey tapped him on the shoulder.....he turned around and....

and then....then he grabbed her and held on

They held each other and cried together and whispered to each other. He spun her around to see her from all sides and then hugged her some more. It was.....priceless. Such a beautiful display of love. I was reduced to a smiley idiot!!!

Casey had FABULOUS bridesmaids. They were tripping over themselves to help her during the day and just loved spending the day together!

And they all wore yellow shoes :)

Theo and Jenny :: Engaged!!

When Jenny and I first started emailing, I knew I was going to love her, because her enthusiasm about everything just reached out through her emails and wrapped me in a silly hug and made me smile as I typed back. She is just this tiny little thing that loves to laugh, loves to smile, and LOVES this man. I met Jenny and her mom for the initial wedding chat and instantly liked them both. We just taaaaalked and talked about everything - Theo, the engagement story, the wedding plans, their families and such. When I found out that Jenny and her mom work together and got to drive to work together every day...JEALOUS! Jenny - you're definitely going to miss those times!

Theo and Jenny used to work together, and about a month before he left for a new position, he asked her out, and the rest is history! They have been together for 9 months, and can't wait to start the rest of forever together. Theo literally eats Jenny's little self up with his gaze and laaaaaaughs at her antics. He watches her closely, always with a ready smile that beams at her when she looks at him. I had so much fun shooting them and just watching them adore each other.

Theo and Jenny were up for anything at all that I asked of them (even if it meant getting down on the ground ;) )! Their readiness for anything gave me complete creative freedom and I'm in love with the results!

We went to the Chicago Botanical Gardens for the shoot, and the light had that perfect fall glow hitting the green. It was b.e.a.u.t.i.f.u.l!

Eric and Carolyn :: Married!!

Ahhhhhh weddings :) As this wedding season has moved along I have just fallen more and more in love with my job, with my clients and with love. And people like Eric and Carolyn make it all so easy!! They are one of those couples that welcome you into their lives, into their relationship and into their other friendships.

I have had the hardest time with this post and have struggled to find the right words to tell you about these two. There is something.....something about them that just doesn't seem to have a word to fit. I mean, I could absolutely tell you about this petite little woman that looked like cinderella in her dress who patiently waited to see her groom. I could tell you about the wedding party that was rambunctious and fun and surrounded these two all day. I could tell you about the groom that was just SO excited to get that tap on his shoulder for his first look at his bride. But somehow, none of those things are really what I want to say. So! I have decided to steal a part of Carolyn's vows to try to tell you about this "thing" these two have. She stood next to Eric during the ceremony and cried looking into his eyes and said "When I look at you, I see my best friend. The one I am most comfortable with..." THAT is what makes these two so significant. There are no pretenses with them, nothing fake or created and nothing that isn't completely genuine admiration, love and contentment. They have been together for a long time and their love has evolved into this beautiful contentment and comfortableness - knowing that they will always be by each others side, holding each other up, supporting each other, encouraging each other and loving each other. Knowing that no matter where life takes them, they are always coming home to each other. Settled. And let me tell you...it's beautiful to see a love like that.

Eric and Carolyn, your day was beautiful and elegant and fun. I am so grateful that I have had this opportunity for your friendship and hope it carries on!

Okay - on to the evidence of the beautiful bride! The day started out at the salon with the girls, moved to lunch at the hotel, the ever-frantic dressing and last minute makeup/hair repairs and out the door to Cantigny!
